PCSX Redux - A Free Download For Windows and Mac
PCSX-Redux is a popular game console emulator for Windows. It emulates the functions of a PC, including the GPU and SPU, and even CD-ROM drive. It supports external plugins, network play, savestates, and save rewind. The program is based on Peops OpenGL, and Pete's OpenGL2 plugin. Other software required for PCSX-Redux include Lilypad input plugins, Asmodeans PSXFX shader render pack, and Libarchive.
The latest version of PCSX-Redux aims to provide an improved codebase for the emulator. It will remove the plug-in system and use modern software technologies, such as SDL and OpenGL3+. It will also use ImGui to improve deboggage and rendu. The developers of PCSX-Redux hope to release a fork for Android soon. Regardless, it's well worth a download.
After installing the emulator, you can run a demo. The demos are tested on the SCPH7001 NA BIOS, but other versions or regions should also work. If a game is not working in your emulator, you can manually select it in the emulator. To build it, use the cargo psx build command, then change the runner to the mipsel-sony-psx target. This will package your executable as an ISO file.
PCSX-Redux supports save states, a new feature in PCSXR that makes it compatible with all 32-bit consoles. Users can store up to nine different states in the emulator. Click on the emulator's menu to access the save states menu. Alternatively, press Ctrl+Slot number to access the settings dialog. This way, you can restore any state you previously saved.
